Established in 2016, Chicksand Preschool Nursery is part of the Women’s Inclusive Team’s strategy to enhance educational and health outcomes for local children and their families. We provide high-quality early years education for children aged 2–4 years in our 35-place Preschool, open term-time only.
Chicksand Preschool boasts a spacious outdoor garden area, perfect for enhancing children’s learning experiences. This area allows children to explore nature and engage in outdoor activities, supporting their physical development and curiosity. Our garden features opportunities to grow fruits and vegetables, helping children understand the life cycle of plants and where their food comes from.
Chicksand Service Times
We offer flexible sessions to accommodate family needs:
- Morning session:9:00am – 12:00pm
- Afternoon session: 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- Days of operation: Monday to Wednesday
- Additional option: Limited spaces for children attending 2.5 days per week
- Currently offering 15 hours free childcare.
Our Ethos
Guided by an Islamic ethos and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we respect and reflect the values of our families while ensuring a comprehensive approach to learning and development. Our strong parent partnerships create a supportive, inclusive, and enriching environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our beautiful new garden furniture enhances outdoor learning, allowing children to explore nature and understand the life cycle of plants by growing fruits and vegetables such as cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and runner beans.

SEND Provision
At Chicksand Preschool Nursery, we are dedicated to creating a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. We focus on fostering a child-centred learning atmosphere that supports each child’s unique potential at their own pace.
Our experienced staff work closely with parents, carers, and professionals to create personalised support plans, ensuring each child thrives. Ongoing staff training in SEND best practices helps us maintain a nurturing and supportive environment for all children.
Ofsted Inspection
