Mental health
Our mental health projects play a crucial role in enhancing individual wellbeing and strengthening community resilience. They serve as vital links between those facing mental health challenges and the available services or community resources, such as counselling, social groups, employment support, food banks, and crisis intervention. Our transformative community approach consistently provides safe, non-judgmental spaces where individuals can speak openly, receive emotional support, and build social connections to reduce isolation. Additionally, these projects aim to raise awareness about mental health, challenge stigma, and promote early intervention through education and outreach. By collaborating with healthcare providers, local authorities, and other community groups, mental health advocates ensure that support is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the diverse needs of the community.
Over the years we’ve led on many mental health initiatives, events, workshops and projects including Flourishing Minds, Barnsley Street and community-driven mental health A&E initiative. One of our most structured, impactful and long-running mental focused projects is the Community Connectors programme. Please read more about this project.
Community Connectors Programme
Our Mental Health Community Connectors play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of individuals and strengthening community resilience. They act as bridges between people experiencing mental health challenges and the services or community-based resources available to help them, such as counselling, social groups, employment support, foodbank or crisis intervention. Our community connectors always provide safe, non-judgmental spaces where individuals can talk openly, receive emotional support, and build social connections that reduce isolation. They also work to raise awareness about mental health, challenge stigma, and promote early intervention through education and outreach. By collaborating with healthcare providers, local authorities, and other community groups, mental health connectors ensure that support is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the diverse needs of the community.
